BOOK REVIEW: The Quilter’s Daughter by Wanda E. Brunstetter

BOOK REVIEW: The Quilter’s Daughter by Wanda E. Brunstetter

When we left the Fisher family in ‘The Storekeeper’s Daughter’ Dad had refound love with Fannie Miller.  Naomi had rekindled love with Caleb. And Zach (Jimmy) was growing up with his English family on the west coast.  In ‘The Quilter’s Daughter’ we return to Fannie’s daughter back home in Ohio running the original quilt shop.  And engaged to Lester.  And missing her mom.  Who happens to announce she’s pregnant.  Needless to say Abby goes to Pennsylvania to help her mom and spend time with her new family, leaving her ever too patient fiance back in Ohio.  After the birth of the boys (yes Fannie has twins, spoiler?) Abby makes plans to return home after Thanksgiving and resume wedding plans.  She never gets to make that trip to see Lester and plan their wedding.  She makes the trip to say goodbye and attend his funeral instead.  Meanwhile on the west coast […]

Every day this month I’ll post a Gratefulness or Gratitude prompt. I’d really enjoy hearing your input on this prompt as well in the comments below. Today’s prompt:I’m somehow drawn to challenges. Song challenges, writing challenges, Sims challenges, just about any challenge. While tossing around blog ideas with my partner in crime the idea to do a monthly challenge came up. I was hesitant to move this to the blog but then tossed it up and said ‘why not?’. Here you have it, my first 30 Day Challenge. Every day this month I’ll post a Gratefulness or Gratitude prompt. I’d really enjoy hearing your input on this prompt as well in the comments below. Today’s prompt: I’ve done my fair share of traveling over the years.  I love a good road trip.  My favorite road trip was 9 years ago to New Jersey to visit a friend.  I got to […]

Goodreads Monday

Goodreads Monday

Posted November 27, 2017 by Fizzy Pop in Goodreads Monday / 0 Comments

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners. To take part, you simply choose a random book from your TBR and show it off. Don’t forget to check out her blog and link back to Lauren’s Page Turners. Another book that I have no idea how it ended up on my shelf but it’s by an author I love and I really want to make time to read it.  Here’s to hoping 2018 is the year! Jack Mullen is a driven student of the law. His brother Peter is a servant of the rich, parking the cars of the Hamptons’ elite — and perhaps satisfying their more intimate needs as well. Then Peter’s body is found on the beach. Jack knows the drowning was no accident, but someone’s unlimited power and money have bought the cops, the judges, the system. Now Jack is learning a lesson in […]

Reflections

Reflections is a weekly meme hosted by Kristin of A Simply Enchanted Life and Fizzy of Fizzy Pop Collection. Every Sunday we will dig deeper in our recent reads to explore the real-life lessons within the pages. Reading the book yourself is not necessary to participate. If you would like to host your own reflection, you’re welcome to copy and paste this introduction, with the link to our pages. You may use our current or prior reflections or come up with your own. Earlier this year Wanda E. Brunstetter posted about contentment on her website.  You can find the link here –> Contentment.  In that post she talks about the differences in lifestyle between the Amish and ‘English’ when it comes to contentment.  The lack of boredom, the lack of needing to be constantly stimulated in order to achieve contentment, really just the ability to enjoy the scenery on our […]
