Amish Cooking Basic Enough for Beginners
Fans of New York Times bestselling author Wanda E. Brunstetter’s Amish romance novels are invited to go back to cooking basics with characters from the bestselling Amish Cooking Class series. Heidi Troyer, her students, and other contributors share over 200 practical recipes for use in any kitchen, along with tips to keep things running smoothly. From learning how to boil eggs and knead biscuits to building a German Pizza and an Amish Haystack feast, The Amish Cooking Class Cookbook includes something beneficial for every age and skill set. Divided into traditional cookbook categories, there is a recipe everyone will find to love.

I’m gonna be right upfront and honest here.  I didn’t get the entire cookbook but a sampler of the cookbook.  What I did have access to though makes me want to own the entire thing.  Not that I necessarily follow recipes (once, I’ll give it once before I start fizzyfing it if I like it).  But I like recipes.  I like the promise that a new recipe holds for Fizzy’s Kitchen.  I like the idea that someone has created something that I want to cook for myself or the Minions.

I loved that this cookbook starts with telling about all the students that took Heidi’s class (including her and Lyle).  A brief bio and their favorite foods were a cute addition to this collection that really does tie the books together.  The recipes from the books are also included with this cookbook as well as many others.  I also loved that the book approaches the categories of recipes as though written for a beginner cook with tips and tricks.  And basic starter recipes like pie crust at the beginning of the pie section.  This is so much more than just a cookbook but almost a kitchen primer based from an Amish home.  Containing details regarding the Amish lifestyle, particularly when it comes to food, as well as verses from the Bible to accompany each section it’s almost like sitting in Heidi’s kitchen and taking home a stack of bound recipe cards.
