Every day this month I’ll post a Gratefulness or Gratitude prompt. I’d really enjoy hearing your input on this prompt as well in the comments below. Today’s prompt:I’m somehow drawn to challenges. Song challenges, writing challenges, Sims challenges, just about any challenge. While tossing around blog ideas with my partner in crime the idea to do a monthly challenge came up. I was hesitant to move this to the blog but then tossed it up and said ‘why not?’. Here you have it, my first 30 Day Challenge.

I’m a silver linings kinda girl. Most people don’t see that since I don’t arrive at silver linings like everyone else. I’m a firm believer that if you plan and prepare for the worst case scenario and it never happens then you just won. Even if you have the worst day ever, the worst case didn’t happen so it’s effectively a good day. A couple of years ago I was needing to find a new job. I got a job that didn’t fit any characteristic of who I am as a person or even things that I’m good at. I was absolutely miserable with this job and was just biding my time until I found something more suited to my skill set. But then something happened. As I floundered through my days opportunities arose that actually were more in tune with what I enjoy doing. Oh, I was told all along that I was really good at this job. I just wasn’t happy. I wasn’t comfortable. It was too people-y. But in my plodding along in this job that I didn’t love and didn’t feel successful other people thought I was. And I was given opportunities to spread my wings into things that I do love and know I can be successful at. Had I not stuck it out I wouldn’t have been given those opportunities. You know, like I talked about yesterday. Definitely a silver lining.
