We started this journey looking with Paradise looking into the murder of her parents. We spent this three-book journey dealing with chaos and sabotage at the animal sanctuary. But now, now we know the truth. Paradise knows the truth. It took three books and a LOT of chaos, but here we are, and honestly, I have no words. None. I’m going to try to change that with a little ADHD jaunts to everything but writing this review and see what happens with words.
While we didn’t open with a dead body, just wait as the count climbed as the story ramped up. The tension was great, and the twists and turns were solid. I was still guessing as it unpacked. Some folks I’ve despised throughout (cough cough Creed) who was rightly despised. The truth is, I’ve about decided that even the good guys are bad guys in this community. Not everyone was as they seemed. But then, honestly, some people seem too good to be true, but they are just that good. In the same vein of the people, the situations felt the same. Some so convoluted that they didn’t feel believable, but then some just seemed too easy.
While I didn’t get diabetes from the tea this time, I did from Blake and Paradise. While the romance didn’t detract, it was just soooo sweet, too sweet and too perfect. Which is perfect for those romance lovers with happy endings folks out there. The one thing that I can’t shake off, though, is their ridiculous fascination with smells and scents. I noticed it in Prowl, but everything here is related to scent. These folks have a serious obsession with anything olfactory. But you know what, I loved this story and I feel like it’s the end of the Sanctuary series. I loved the wrap-up that took three stories to get here, and despite the diabetes, I’d read them all over again.
