Reflections is a weekly meme hosted by Kristin of A Simply Enchanted Life and Fizzy of Fizzy Pop Collection. Every Sunday we will dig deeper in our recent reads to explore the real-life lessons within the pages. Reading the book yourself is not necessary to participate. If you would like to host your own reflection, you’re welcome to copy and paste this introduction, with the link to our pages. You may use our current or prior reflections or come up with your own.

I‘m going to do something a wee bit different things week. Today is Easter Sunday. As a Christian that carries a great deal of significance for me. It’s also April Fools Day. And the weather is pretty sketchy here. Don’t tell me that God doesn’t have a sense of humor! The truth is that there is no joke, no prank, no fooling about the fact that Christ is risen. He died so that I didn’t have to. He covered my sins so that I could live. He provided a path to forgiveness. That is something that cannot be taken away. Enjoy your day with your family, your friends, your framily, and your faith. He is Risen!
I have always been a Dolly Parton fan going way back to the days when I was inventing dirt. That hasn’t changed, there’s just something about that voice. I remember listening to this song over and over when she released it on her White Limousine album. I knew that this was something I wanted to share with you on this most Holy day. I looked through various renditions by various singers (I didn’t realize that Johnny Cash had done a version!) but always came back to Dolly. This video takes clips from ‘The Passion of Christ’ movie and sets them with this song. I hope that your soul is touched like mine is when you hear this song.
